Program Goals:
- To participate in program development and provide system support
- To help all students fulfill their
academic potential through
- Development of a positive self-image and a sense of responsibility towards self and others
- The acquisition of communication, decision-making and problem solving skills
- An awareness of the relationship between education and career and/or job opportunities
- An awareness of his/her potential and limitations to set realistic goals to be successful in life
Four Components of a Developmental School Guidance and Counseling Program
Services are provided to students, staff and parents through four program components as delineated in TEC 33.005+.Guidance Curriculumprovides guidance content in a systematic way to all students and assists students in developing basic life skills.
Responsive Servicesaddresses the immediate concerns of students that may impede their learning.
Individual Planningassists students in monitoring and understanding their own development, specifically in their educational, career, and personal/social development.
System Supportincludes program and staff support activities and services.
