During the week of October 19-23, 2009, students, staff, and faculty celebrated Red Ribbon week with anti-drug activities and contests.

On Monday students were asked to wear a red shirt and also display their craziest socks for “Sock it to Drugs Day”.

Tuesday was “Hat Off to a Drug Free Life”. Students and staff wore their most unique caps/hats in celebration of a drug free life.

On Wednesday LVHS celebrated Twin Day as students– “Partnered Up Against Drugs”. Students chose a partner to be their twin by using similar clothing, hairstyle, and accessories.
Thursday was Hawaiian Day “Lei Off Drugs”. Students were sporting Hawaiian skirts, shorts, caps, hats, and leis.

Friday (Spirit Day) – “Cards Against Drugs”. The grade level wearing the most red clothing (pants, shirts, socks, shoes, signs, etc…) at the pep rally won the most spirited contest.

There was also a Door Contest where the student leadership classes decorated their doors with a drug-free theme.

Students were also invited to display their artistic talents by submitting drawings, poetry and essays reflecting a drug free lifestyle.
