Baking Webquest

FRACTIONS!!!!!
Almost every students' worst fear is fractions. Many students do not liking with them, and many of them wonder why we even have to learn them.
A student asked me the other day, "When are we ever going to use fractions in the real world?" The first thing that popped in my head was baking. I took this opportunity to take the 8th grade to the labs to do a Webquest.
The assignment:
-Pretend they own their own bakery.
-Create an order form for at least 5 cakes.
-Then list the ingredients and combine items from all cakes to see the total for each ingredient needed.
