SHELTER

SHELTER

Hazard and Safety Strategy

WHAT IT MEANS

Shelter occurs when personal protection is necessary, such as during a severe weather event.

WHAT STUDENTS AND STAFF HEAR

"There is a safety threat outside the facility."

WHAT WE'LL DO

Adults and staff are trained to:

  • Appropriate Hazards and Safety Strategies

  • Accounting for students and adults

  • Report injuries or problems using Red Card/GreenCard method.

WHAT YOU SHOULD DO

Take shelter in the nearest safe location. Know that school personnel are getting your kids to safety. Do not drive to the school, as vehicles are unsafe during severe weather events. Look for updates on social media or by text messages.
