My name is Edward Rivera, however my students usually call me Mr. (Ms. or Mrs. at times) Rivera or Mr. Principal.  For four years, I have had the privilege of being the educational leader at Jose B. Munoz Elementary.  I graduated from the University of Texas-Pan American with a Bachelor’s degree in both Math and Biology.  I received my Master’s degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Texas- Rio Grande Valley and am currently pursuing my Doctoral degree at Texas A&M University- Kingsville.

My life has been fulfilled by the art of teaching and the field of education.  The joy that comes with watching someone’s eyes light up in appreciation of what you do has become my passion.  I am striving to become a more well-rounded version of the educator I have already been shaped into being.  Through the support of my family, staff, and the community I have come to learn that leadership is about making others better as a result of your presence and
making sure that impact lasts in your absence.  I look forward to being of great service to this community and to all the students that walk through our doors.
